Dr. Heather Rice
Dr. Heather Rice took over Network Chiropractic of Vermont in 1997. Originally from Massachusetts she has over 23 years experience in the chiropractic profession. Since graduating from chiropractic school in 1983, Dr. Rice
has focused much of her practice of chiropractic on
family wellness care for infants, children, and adults,
and educating the public on the importance of a healthy spine and nervous system.

In 1987, she took a three and a half year sabbatical
from her busy Brookline practice to travel as a research volunteer to the Far East to introduce Chiropractic in South Korea and Beijing, China. While in Asia, she was exposed to the eastern philosophies of healing. Beyond oriental medicine and acupuncture, working with Qi
Gong masters, Filipino psychic surgeons, Javanese and Sumatran shamans and traditional Thai healers brought much insight to her own work and the healing process. Further ongoing self study in the science of mind-body healing allows her to bring a unique perspective and understanding to her practice.

Dr. Rice practices the art of chiropractic using Network Spinal Analysis (NSA), known for it's gentle adjustments and profound changes in the quality of life of those receiving the work. She is one of the only doctors in Vermont who has achieved the highest level of certification in NSA, keeping her at the leading edge of state-of-the-art chiropractic. She has been involved in research investigating and documenting the clinical effectiveness of NSA. She is also trained in Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) from the Twelve Stages
of Healing work. Heather shares her expertise in
ongoing classes on spinal health, healing, SRI and
more. Dr. Heather sits on the board of governors for
the World Chiropractic Alliance representing Vermont
and is a faculty member of the American Consumer Education Foundation.

Besides coming from a family of chiropractors (father, mother, two brothers, and a sister-in-law), Heather is also a certified Firewalking Instructor and has been a staff trainer for the Firewalking Institute of Research
and Education. She has conducted Firewalking
workshops all over the world, as well as lecturing nationally and internationally on chiropractic to
groups as large as a thousand.

Sarah LeDuc - Front Desk Assistant, Goddess of Scheduling
Sarah was born in Vermont and grew up in Chittenden County. She graduated from Johnson State College (JSC) with a psychology degree. The two years following she dedicated her time at JSC as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) then as staff in The Center for Service Learning, also obtaining a Non-Profit Management Certification.

She then decided to join AmeriCorps again by moving to St. Louis to be part of an Emergency Response Team. After completing her year of service she moved back to Vermont and joined the staff at Network Chiropractic of Vermont. Since joining Network
Chiropractic in 2005 Sarah has gotten married to Jonathan Leduc and they have a beautiful daughter named Ally. Ally joins us at the office each day to help her mom take care of our practice members.

As you can see volunteering is her passion and she is currently looking for her next service adventure while continuing to juggle three things at once, keep a smile and treat our practice members like royalty.

Katie Wallace - Chiropractic Assistant
Katie was born in Glendale, AZ but graduated high school and received a B.A. in Secondary Education in New Mexico. After graduating, Katie moved to Kunsan, Korea for a year where she taught English as a secondary language at a private Korean academy. Katie tends to move around a lot because of her husband's job with the active duty United States Air Force. She arrived in Vermont in November 2006 and hopes to stay here for the next three years. "By providing the non invasive computerized scans that Dr. Heather uses to monitor the functions of the nervous system, I am given the opportunity each day to help others toward healing their bodies." When she's not helping Dr. Heather provide the best care possible for practice members, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, their cat and golden retriever. She likes to scrapbook, garden, and fish. However, her favorite pastime is traveling.

Kate Pellegrini
Kate was born and raised in Bristol, Vermont with her parents and two older brothers. She headed to play field hockey at St. Lawrence University and received a B.S. in Psychology, and minor degrees in Exercise Science, Coaching and Wellness (with an emphasis on nutrition). After marrying a fellow Vermonter whom she met at college in New York, Kate followed in her parents' footsteps by returning to Addison County to coach field hockey and work in an Elementary Special Education program. Now, she is thrilled to return to her passion of nutrition and wellness by helping to provide the best support for practice members to achieve their greatest feeling of wellness in all aspects of their life. When Kate's not at NCV, she can be found hiking the green mountains, swimming, boating or traveling on her husband's motorcycle to see her friends and beloved family every chance she gets.

Abby Kowalewitz -
Front Desk Assistant

Abby was born and raised in Essex, Vermont. She was happy as a small town girl while studying musical theatre at the University of New Hampshire until she took a semester abroad in Florence, Italy. It was then she fell in love with the city life. Quickly after getting her BA from UNH she made her way to New York City where she fell into the restaurant industry. Three years later, finally burnt out on taking orders from angry chefs, Abby moved home to Vermont. She is currently very happy to be back by her family and taking advantage of boating and water-skiing with her dad on weekends. Abby feels lucky to be the newest addition to the Network Chiropractic team and is happy to finally work in an environment that she looks forward to coming to every day.
